Welcome to the site of Voisey

village1

Voisey is a village in the south of the Champagne Ardenne, in the department Haute Marne. It is relatively an unknown area to many British tourists which is such a shame.

Voisey can be reached by car in about 5-6 hours from Calais via Reims, Troyes and Langres. From Langres the easiest solution is to follow the signs to Vesoul and then, just after the little town of Fayl Billot turn right in the direction of Bourbonne-les-Bains (www.bourbonne.com).

After some kilometres you will come across the road sign to Voisey (a turn to the right).

Voisey is quite special as it is the place where three departments meet: Vosges, Haute Saône and Haute Marne.

It has a regional museum which is open during the weekend from 15th of June to the 15th of September (15.00 – 18.30 hours).

Voisey also has a small, simple campsite  and a food-truck where the baker comes to sell fresh bread every morning except Mondays.

Why should anyone bother to come to such a simple place as Voisey? It has no grand palaces, no champagne, no theatres, no fancy shops. What it does have is a commodity that is becoming rare in our modern world: peace and quietness. And lots of space.

Nature is so beautiful in this little corner of France. Fields full of flowers in May, fruit trees in bloom in June, woods and country tracks for long walks. In July the village shows it prettiest face when flowers adorn houses, bridges and official buildings.

In summer every self respecting village has its own vide-grenier. Voisey has its event in June, just before the trees begin to turn gold and yellow for autumn.

In winter it can be very cold but in Voisey also has the advantage of being only an hour’s drive from the winter sports areas in the Vosges Mountains (Gérardmer and la Bresse).

There are no important big tourist attractions in the Voisey area, but not too far away you will find Langres, Vittel and Vesoul, towns which are all definitely worth a visit.

So why not take the step: leave Normandy and the Dordogne behind for once and join us in Voisey.
